It works the same as the buttons on your machine. We have found most people like to "set it and forget it", meaning they program their machine to come on and off at a certain time during the day and don't think about it again until it's time to add more oil. If this sounds like you then you might not think this little gadget would be useful, however, if you use your diffuser outside this remote can be very useful and that's why we created it.
